Eiffel Tower and Trocadero

Eiffel Tower is one of the world’s most visited
monuments and next to the French flag, it is probably
the most popular icon that symbolizes France.

For tourists, Parc du Champs de Mars  is the
most popular place to view the Eiffel Tower,

...where we took some of our photos
during our last visit here in 2003,

…but the Trocadéro, is actually an awesome alternative.

Trocadéro is the site of the Palais de Chaillot,

…located across the Seine River,

.. being a hill, it used to be called the hill of Chaillot,

...and serves as a magnificent view deck of the Eiffel Tower.

There are a numerous bronze
gilded sculptures in Trocadero-

…including the two stone statues,
 'L'homme' by Pierre Traverse
on one side of the park

…and 'La Femme' by Daniel Bacqué on the
other side-  which I failed to take photos.

The gardens of Trocadéro is a must see
for those visiting  the Eiffel Tower.

Created for the 1937 Universal Exposition, this
greenery has a stunning view of the Eiffel Tower,

…that turns golden brown in the afternoon

The  Warsaw fountain is the centerpiece of the garden
that offers a mesmerizing water display, especially
in the evening when they are fully illuminated.

At the end of the park near the carousel
are several food stalls,

.... that sells crepes,

…and baguette sandwiches,

…both of which are must try and eat
