Rai Rai Ken, Japanese Food Feast

Rai Rai Ken
SM City Naga

The queue at the Rai Rai Ken
in SM City Naga was kilometric…

We finally had a chance to dine
at the newly opened Japanese Restaurant…

…and had a feast of delicious
Japanese cuisine…

They have the best tasting Ramen in town
that comes in huge servings good enough to be shared.
Ours was a bowl of Seafood Hotpot Ramen…

One of the most delicious
Corn Soup...

The Gomuko Chan Platter- which is a
Fried Rice with mixed seafood toppings
is a complete dish on its own…

They have an abundance
of classic Japanese fares
like Mixed Sushi…

…fresh Sashimi…

…and the crispy Tempura…

The Mabo Tofu, with mushroom
and ground pork in thick sauce
was superbly delicious…

Yasai Itame , a mixed veggies with pork
tastes and looks intersestingly
like Chop Suey…

My daughter complained of
the strong fishy odor
of the  Sizzling Salmon Steak…

It’s a fish- I justified.
Yet, despite the smell it still tasted great.

...and of course, no one would not want to miss
Rai Rai Ken's famous Ramen
that are still beeing offered ar 50% off...

Rai Rai Ken offers
a sumptuous feast of Japanese food
in a fast food set up.

Nikko's Ark

Nikko’s Ark
Magsaysay Ave., corner Penafrancia Ave
Naga City

Is it possible to dine in a cruise ship
in a landlocked city like Naga?

The answer is yes.

In a landlocked cruise ship- shaped
Resto- bar called Nikko’s Ark.

The place is a popular place for wining-
and never been known as a dining destination…

…but upon hearing that they also
serve wide array of international dishes…
we finally decided to visit the popular ark.

The kids were amused with the idea
of dining in a ship at the middle of the city…
miles and miles away from the ocean…

…we we’re served with waiters
dressed as sailors…

…and discovered the hidden
culinary treasures of the high seas…
in the heart of Naga City….

We were served Murtabak as an appetizer…
a pan-fried bread with  minced meat, garlic, onion, and spices
and is eaten with curry sauce.

The dish was tasty enough to perk you appetite…

Their Corn and Crab Chowder Soup
was tasted really good…

My family loves Catfish I was excited
to see Fried Catfish in the menu.
It was really huge crispy but juicy catfish…

…that reminded us of the tasty Fried Catfish
we had in New Orleans in the past…

The Baby Back Ribs had a tangy taste.
It was so tender that the meat falls off from the bone..
and melts in your mouth with all the
barbecue goodness to savor…

The Grilled Tuna Belly was tender but chewy
and had a perfect moisture even after being grilled…

The Fish Fillet with creamy Pesto sauce
was so delicious that you would end up craving for more…

We found the beef and Brocolli
a little bit overcooked and soggy
but still tasted great.

They ran out of Prawns during our visit
and expected more seafood items from the menu
being a maritime themed restaurant…

Nevertheess-
it was still a unique culinary experience
of being able to dine in a cruise ship…
in the middle of a landlocked  city

The Coffee Beanery Lunch

The Coffee Beanery Lunch
The Avenue Square, Naga City

Having a full  lunch is something
you can’t do in other coffee shops …

...but a full hearty lunch is available
at TCB (or the Coffee Beanery)…

There is a wide choice of  Pinoy lunch toppings that
come in huge servings- good enough to be shared…

Like the tangy Chicken Inasal,

...delicious Pork and Chicken Adobo,

...and  the tasty Inihaw na Liempo.

These lunch fares could be enjoyed
together with their good old offerings…

...like Bibingka Pancake
topped generously with cheese,

...Ceazar’s Sandwich served abundantly
with fried Kamote Chips,

...Tomato Basil Pasta
with Kesong Puti,

…their classic Spanish Chocolate,

…and  the very healthy Lemongrass Tea.

Who needs a coffee when you are at the Coffee Beanery?
