Edsa Shangri- La’s Upper Level De Luxe Room:Comfort, Style and Elegance- All In

Edsa Shangri- La’s  De Luxe Room
Comfort, Style and Elegance- All In

It has been such a joy to stay at any Shangrila Hotel
and I have blogged the reasons when I declared this
group of hotels as the best family hotel in the country.

I have always considered Edsa Shangrila as our home
away from home and the kids grew up loving this hotel
as we usually stay here whenever we are in Manila.

I have already reviewed about this hotel’s De Luxe Room
located at the lower floors of the Tower Wing,

…I have also blogged about their Horizon Club Rooms
located at the upper floors of the Garden Wing,

…and this time, this post is about their De Luxe Room
located at the upper floors of the Tower Wing.

We arrived at the hotel after a short flight from Naga City,
as I was set to be a panelist for a national thyroid forum.

The check- in was fast and easy,

…and we were in our room in a breeze.

Stay

We were booked to a upper level of the
hotel’s tower wing De Luxe Room,

…that had an unobstructed
view of the Ortigas Center.

Just like any other hotels in Manila that we have
stayed in the past , the view could be depressing
at daytime when thick smog obscures the horizon,

…but becomes alive and breathtaking
the city lights up at night time.

Comfort, style and elegance are what Shangri- La rooms stand for.
Unlike the De Luxe rooms at the lower floor of the hotel that had
a reserved dark wood interior, this one had a more stylish and
lighter shades  of neutral earth colors, accented with deep- dark
indigo colored and refreshing minty shades of blue throw pillows.

The room had two huge double bed, joined together
to become a massive, comfortable King sized bed big
enough to fit a family of four snugly and still relaxed.

It was very spacious and had a
nice and pretty sofa at sitting area,

…and center table that kept dining
utensils under its glass covered top,

…where they laid a welcome
fruit plate when we arrived.

They have study and working table,

...that had various electrical outlet configurations designed to
fit various types of electronic plugs from different countries.

It has a wide flat screen TV.

…and a well stocked mini- bar,
with coffee/tea making facilities.

It had a spacious closet filled with things
that would make our stay comfortable,

…and also had an in- room safe.

…the room had a very spacious
and luxurious toilet and bathroom,

…provided with signature toiletries,

The bathroom had fabulous rain shower,
I expected a bath tub for this room type
but unfortunately they did not have one.

Connectivity was not a problem as the room had
three landline phones, the first was on the bedside,

…the second on the working table,

and the third at the toilet.

It also had a fast and free
Wi- Fi internet connection.

Stray
The hotel is located between two major malls
the Edsa Shagri- La Mall in one side,

… and the SM Mega Mall on the other side,

File:Sm megamall.jpg

…and there is a direct access to the upscale
Shangri La Plaza Mall from the hotel,

...making shopping easy and convenient.

But there is really no need to go out of the
hotel as it was built as a resort hotel and serves
as an oasis right in the middle of an urban jungle.

It had a fabulous garden where one can
have a leisurely walk, or just laze around
admiring the tropical greenery around you.

The hotel had several in house shops- so there is
really no need to hit the nearby malls to shop

The hotel is also known for its popular Chi Spa
where one can have a relaxing massage,

...or guests may avail of their numerous luxurious
health and beauty therapeutic regimens.

 Play

The EDSA Shangri La pool, is a place full of
memories for me and my family as  I cannot
count the number of times we stayed in the hotel.

My eldest daughter literally grew up frolicking in
the hotel pool until she now in her young teens.

It was also the same pool where my
then two- year old  son Timothy taught
himself how to swim on his own.

The pools remained the same- beautiful,
and has been upgraded and redesigned
into a marvelous mini water park.

The garden was well manicured, very clean
and superbly maintained and provides
amazingly vast greenery amidst on of the
busiest and chaotic district of urban Manila.

The hotel also has a well equipped
gym that guests can use for free.

 Feast
Although there are countless of dining options
and  posh restaurants at the nearby Shangri- La Mall
and  SM Mega Mall, there is really no need to go out
of the  hotel as EDSA Shangri- La has an excellent
number of restaurants right inside  the hotel.

 The Lobby Lounge
The  cavernous Lobby Lounge, is the
place to go, if one wanted to relax,

...and ha a fill of delicious snacks,

 …and refreshing drinks.

It is  breathtakingly beautiful

…and transforms into a serene
and relaxing bar at night.

Heat Restaurant

Edsa Shangri- La has an excellent
house restaurant called Heat.

The restaurant buffet had a wonderful spread of
international dishes and  always crowded with
diners, especially at night, and understandably as
they serve one of the most massive buffets in the city.

It is a place where one could pig out like there is no tomorrow,

…as they serve some  of the most massive and extensive
delicious spread of international cuisine at the buffet area.

Heat Restaurant is one of the best
buffet restaurants in the Philippines.

Nothing can ever go wrong when
one stays in any Shangrila Hotel.

Comfort, elegance and style, are all inclusive
wherever you stay, whatever room you choose.

From to comfortable DeLuxe Rooms
at the lower levels if you’re on a budget,

…to the more sophisticated De Luxe Room at
the upper levels of the hotel for an upgrade,

…or to the more exclusive Horizon Club Room
if one wants to splurge on a little bit of luxury.

Edsa Shangri- la has the right kind of room to your right
kind of budget, without compromising the quality of service.

I have yet to review Edsa Shangri- la’s Premier Room or Suite, that is-
if I get rich and be able to afford it, I would love to stay in one in the future.
