The Lady of Penafrancia
is the original woman in our lives…
…but having a devotion to another one-
wouldn’t hurt the lady a bit…
-this we found in New Orleans in 2004...
...and we later learned that she has a shrine
in the idyllic town of Buhi,
which we vowed to visit monthly,
and every time we can…
…the call from the Lady came last Sunday,
when some of our hyperactive nephew’s came to visit
my doubly hyperactive son…
…there was nothing else to do at home-
so we packed some sweet goodies,
gathered them all in the van…
…and off we went
for an afternoon road trip to Rinconada.
We dropped by at Chow King Iriga for lunch…
The fast food is located at the
beautiful, Mall- like Iriga Public Market…
Then we were treated with the rustic scenes…
…and tranquil views on our way to Buhi…
…the other ‘Lady’ is housed
at the newly renovated Buhi Church…
…like her New Orelans counterpart,
she was a sight to behold…
