Tropicana Double Tree by Hilton: Tropical Paradise at the Las Vegas Strip (Spectacular Las Vegas Series 2)

Tropicana Double Tree by Hilton
Tropical Paradise at the Las Vegas Strip
(Spectacular Las Vegas Series 2)

We arrived late in the afternoon in Tropicana Hotel
in Las Vegas after about four and a half  hours
scenic trip  from Anaheim by Lux Bus America.

Tropicana lobby was beautiful and welcoming.

It was bathed by the vibrant and dynamic
shades of blue, pink, orange and purple,

…had comfortable wide lobby seats,

…a tour desk where guests could conveniently
book for city tours and charge it to their rooms.

Check- in was a breeze,

…we were welcomed with their delicious choco- chip
cookies like they always do in any Doubletree Hotel,

… and it was a long walk to
our room from the lobby,

…we had to pass by the hotel casino,

…several restaurants on the long corridor that
connects the new Tower rooms to the original
hotel building where the lobby was located.

We passed by the convention area,

...took a scenic elevator,

...up the 9th floor receiving area.

This would be our home for the next five days in
Las Vegas until we move to Los Angeles, California,
our last stop for this three city autumn US vacation.

This is the second Hilton managed Doubltree Hotel
that we stayed in the past, the other one was in
Amsterdam, the Netherlands about three years ago.

Stay

We stayed on one of their airy looking
De Luxe Rooms with two queen sized beds,
enough for a family of four to fit in comfortably.

The room was very spacious and the
kids had a lot of space to move around.

It had a comfortable seating area where
one can lounge, read and relax,

..a huge flat screen TV,

...a safety bolt below the TV set.

…a nice vanity area which doubles
as a working and reading desk.

…and spacious but empty closet.

It did not have a mini bar or a refrigerator, and all it had were
two bottles of water, drinking glasses and an Ice Bucket,

…that could be filled up from
 the nearby ice machine.

It had a beautiful and spacious toilet,

…had a huge bathtub and a regular water closet.

…provided with basic amenities,

….and sufficient toiletries.

The room had a breathtaking
view of the Las Vegas Strip,

…that becomes even more
spectacular at night.

A room this big just had one
landline phone on the bedroom,

…but luckily, just like any other US based hotels,
it had a very fast but free Wi Fi connection.

Stray

The Tropicana Hotel had a perfect location as
it is located in one end of the Las Vegas Strip.

It is just across and interconnected with some of
the major, hotels in the strip like the MGM Grand,

….New York, New York,

Excalibur,

Luxur,

…and Mandalay Bay.

It is also a perfect starting point to explore the Las Vegas Strip,
as  it is located where the strip actually begins, just about a block
away from the iconic ‘Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas’ signage.

Play

Tropicana Hotel had a beautiful lake size
tropical- themed outdoor swimming pool,

…but it was closed for the autumn season.

It also had a beautiful Casino,

…which we never played as we came
to Vegas for a vacation and not to gamble.

For couples who wanted to get married fast and easy,
and wanted to commit on a more serious relationship,
there is also a quaint, lovely wedding chapel by the pool.

Feast

Breakfast Buffet

Tropicana Hotel offers a massive
breakfast buffet at the Beach Café,

…but we never had a chance to
try it as we always woke up late.

In House Restaurants

They also have several top notch
restaurants located inside the hotel

Room Service

But one thing we like in this hotel
is their 24- hour room service,

…where we enjoyed a wide range
of delicious international cuisine,

…available anytime of the day.

Tropicana Hotel, Las Vegas is a wonderful and
affordable hotel for families traveling on a budget.

The rooms are spacious and clean,
and the beds are comfortable.

It had a perfect location,
in the Las Vegas Strip,

…and offers a spectacular view of the city.

But bearing a Hilton on Tropicana’s name
gave us a very high expectation for the hotel.

Compared to Amsterdam’s Doubltree by Hilton
that we stayed three years ago that introduced us
to their delicious and iconic choco- chip cookies-
the similarity unfortunately stops on the cookie.

^^^ Double Tree by Hilton, Amsterdam

Unlike the Amsterdam’s Doubltree by Hilton that
gave us  topnotch amenities from the Apple Computer
TV,  Evelyn and Crabtree toiletries, luxurious robes and
slippers  on the closets, and a well stocked mini bar,

^^^ Double Tree by Hilton, Amsterdam

Tropicana Doubletree by Hilton Las Vegas
did not have any of those fancy trimmings.

It was a beautiful, chic, well- designed
spacious and comfortable suite room,

…with an empty closet, which was quite a disappointment
as  most Hilton hotels or even regular family hotels would
at least have one or two slippers and bathrobes.

The room didn't have mini bar or even a refrigerator,

…and only supplied us with
ordinary, un- Hilton toiletries.

Maybe- we have expected too much,

…but for the budget price we paid it is still one
of the best value for money Hilton hotel  that we
ever have stayed and I would gladly stay here
again should we return to Las Vegas in the future.

  1. Tropicana Hotel is an amazing place to stay in Vegas. I really fell in love with the place when I booked it for the first time 4 years ago with reservationcounter.com. The place is really luxurious and not cheap at all but it is really worth it. I really recommend this place!
