Galleria Vittorio Emanuele: II Italy’s Oldest Mall (Sophisticated Milan Series 7)

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II
Italy’s Oldest Mall
Sophisticated Milan Series 7

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II
is Italy’s oldest mall built in 1865.

Named after Vittorio Emanuele II
the first king of the Kingdom of Italy-

…the shopping mall consist of two- glass vaulted ceilings-

…covered with glass arches and cast iron roof.

It connects the Piazza del Doumo

...and the Piazza della Scala.

The Galleria is famous for being home to
some of the oldest shops and restaurants,

…and luxury haute couture retailers.

It is breathtakingly beautiful ancient mall,

…that none of the modern shopping
malls built this century would top.

The Galleria is nicknamed
“Il salotto di Milano”

…or Milan's drawing room,

…as it is an important Milanese
meeting and dining destination.
