Scenic Roadtrip: CDO to Dahilayan Bukidnon.

Scenic Roadtrip
CDO to Dahilayan Bukidnon
(CDO & Bukidnon Series 2)

On our second day in Cagayan de Oro,
after taking our breakfast at the buffet area-

...the van fetched us at the hotel.

It was the same van that met us at the airport
when we arrived the night before.
We  were pre booked for an overnight stay
at the Forest Park in Dahilayan, Bukidnon.

We packed an overnight bag,
left most of our bulky luggage in Seda Hotel.
We did not check out as we would back
 the next day  anyway.

We requested the driver to take us on a city tour
before driving to Bukidnon to familiarize ourselves
with this bustling Southern Philippine city.

Philip, our driver gladly obliged, and took us
around the city. The signs of progress
and modernization are visible everywhere.

He identified important buildings,

…landmarks,

…parks and monuments…

...and government institutions,

...old and new hospitals,

... and even Souvenir Shops
and Pasalubong Centers

Philip was a very able
and knowledgeable guide.

We later found out that he owns the transport company
that provided us the rented van and it so happened
that the driver assigned to us was not available
so he took over his place.

He talked about the booming business climate of the city.
He apparently diversified his transport business
to owning buildings for lease in the city.

He was very conversant and was happy to know
that we are from Naga City.

He was a triathlete as he had already
been to CamSur thrice when he joined
the Ironman held  in our province in the past.

When we arrived at  the  Misamis Oriental –
Bukidnon boundary, we were asked to alight
from the van to step on a chemical treated mat
meant to prevent spread of Foot and Mouth disease.
Everyone entering Bukidnon are required do this.

The trip to Bukidnon was exhilarating.

We passed by magnificent seascapes,

…rustic town centers,

….and the Del Monte Pineapple Plantation.

My family enjoyed the view Camp Philips
which houses Del Monte employees.

It was a charming  housing project
and a tourist attraction of its own,

From Camp Philips, we passed by
acres and acres of pineapple plantations

.... Green  Banana Plantations-

...and even Corn Plantations.

As we admire the scenery we cannot avoid
but envy on how fertile and how rich the land was
in  the majestic farms of Bukidnon

The scenery was breathtaking.

This province, indeed has one of the most
beautiful countryside views in the Philippines.

…and the view was spectacular all they way until we reached
our destination- the Dahilayan Mountain Range.

When we arrived in Dahilayan-
we were amazed by the beauty of the place.

It had a pleasant Baguio like climate
at 17 degrees a little past noon time,

The fresh scent of pine trees
Permeates the cold mountain breeze-

..and the view was breathtaking.

Dahilayan  has the long lost splendor
and charm  of Baguio of  the bygone era.

Finally- we are in mountain top paradise.

    1. I'm really sorry that I already lost Philip's phone number. Anyway he was referred to us by the travel agent that we contacted to arrange our trip. But I will try to contact my travel agent on Monday, as it is weekend here in PI, and try to get the number of this transport company.

Thank you for visiting my blog.
