Oakwood Residences Shanghai: Affordable Spacious Home in Shanghai (Getting High in Shanghai Series 1)

Oakwood Residences Shanghai
Affordable Spacious Home in Shanghai
Getting High in Shanghai Series 1

We arrived in Shanghai at noontime, and took
a taxi to Oakwood Residences Shanghai.

This is the second Oakwood property that may family stayed,
which I have reviewed in my blog in the past (LINK HERE).

We were met by a friendly non- English speaking
staff at the hotel’s concierge at the ground floor, who
accompanied us to the hotel lobby at the fourth floor.

Oakwood Residences Shanghai had a
modern, contemporary designed lobby,

Check in was a breeze, and the
people at the front desk were friendly,

..and we were immediately on our
way to our room at the 23rd floor.

This would be our home for on week as
the first half of our Shanghai vacation,

…and we would later move to Pudong for
another three days in Shanghai Disneyland.

Stay

Our suite, a Two Bedroom Apartment was very spacious and was
very beautiful. The large living room, just like other Oakwood  properties
it was executed in natural earth tones, and formal dark hardwood motif.

It has a huge very comfortable sofa
that could function as an extra bed,

There is a huge flat screen TV,
superb audio/video systems.

There is a huge working and study table,

…provided with varied electrical outlets that
would fit any gadget coming from any country.

There was also beautiful dining room,

…and a fully equipped kitchen,

…large refrigerator,

…upscale cooking range,

…oven,

... microwave oven.

...and there was even a rice cooker and a bread toaster.

The room was  provided with complete cooking,

…and dining utensils.

…including a dishwasher.

They  had a coffee maker at the minibar.

There was a huge closet at the portal
that had slippers and shoe shine kit,

…and an electric iron and the ironing board.

The master’s bedroom was also very beautiful and jus like living room,
it is of modern Asian contemporary design. It had king size bed,

…huge wide- screen LCD flat TV
with top notch audio/video systems.

There has a walk in closet that had extra
blankets and pillows and electronic safe

…and accessories to make the
guests stay more comfortable.

There is a huge working and study table,

…provided with varied electrical outlets that
would fit any gadget coming from any country.

This room had a modern a toilet and bath with
nice shower room, but unfortunately, no bath tub.

It was provided with plush amenities,

…and adequate signature toiletries.

…and a washing machine
and clothes dryer.

The second room was just as beautiful and also of modern
Asian contemporary design.  It had a smaller queen size bed,
but unlike the master's bed room, this one did not have a TV.

It had a spacious closet that had the another
electronic safe, extra blankets and pillows,

There is a huge working and study table,

…provided with varied electrical outlets that
would fit any gadget coming from any country.

This room had a modern a toilet and bath

… with nice shower room,
and also with no bath tub.

It was provided with plush amenities,

…and adequate signature toiletries.

The suite had three landline phones-
the first one in the living room,

…the second on at the master’s bedroom,

…and the third at the other bedroom.

Both the living and the bedrooms rather small windows,

…and it would have ideal had they were panoramic as
the view shows  Shanghai’s awesome iconic skyline.

We were not happy with the Wi Fi connection
as most websites are banned in China and one
would still have to subscribe to private VPN.

Stray

The Oakwood Residences Shanghai located at
Wuning Rd, Putuo Qu, in Shang Hai's  Cay Yang District ,

…and has a direct access to the upscale Imago Mall.

It is also of walking distance,

… to the Cao Yang Metro station-

…making Shanghai accessible from the hotel.

Play

Oakwood Residences Shanghai
had a well equipped fitness center.

It did not have a pool, but the hotel’s being
connected to the gorgeous Imago Mall,

…that offers awesome dining,

... shopping and entertainment,

…compensates for this minor deficiency.

Feast

The Oakleaf Restaurant and Bar

The  Oakleaf Restaurant and Bar
at the lobby  is beautiful restaurant,

…designed with the classic Georgian elegance.

Unfortunately, we were not able to dine
at the Oakleaf Restaurant and Bar,

…as the hotel accessibility to the mall,
offered a wide variety of dining options,

…from some of the upscale restaurants in Shanghai.

The presence of a supermarket at the Imago Mall,

...made us shop for our basic cooking needs,

...and enjoyed preparing our own breakfast everyday.
