The Tour métallique de Fourvière also dominates

the Lyon skyline being located atop the Fourvière  Hill.

 

The tower’s  steel framework tower bears a striking 

resemblance to the upper half of the Eiffel Tower.

 

It was built in 1892 and completed in1894.

…and used to have t a restaurant and an elevator

that take people up to the summit’s view deck.

It was used as observation tower in the past

...but at present it only serves as television tower  

and already off limits to the public and tourists.
