Pergamon Museum 

After a leisurely walk from the hotel







,,,to the Museum Island, 





…we arrived at 8 AM at the Pergamon Museum 
and we were the very first tourists to arrive that day…



The museum opens at 10 AM, but according to 
The Lonely Planet Travel Guide- (our Bible wherever we travel),



...we should be at the museum gate early
to avoid the long queue shortly before the museum opens…



The travel book was right….
at 9 AM. the queue to the museum was kilometric-



I stood on line ahead of anyone else.
While my family still found time to relax…





...and my young son found some time to play 
on the museum grounds while waiting on queue...



Museum visitors are provided with  portable audio guide upon entry.
Pergamon houses original-sized, reconstructed monumental buildings 
(transported part by part from Turkey),





…of the Pergamon Altar, 





...and the Market Gate of Melitus. 





The museum is subdivided into the antiquity collection, 
 the Middle East museum, 





...and the museum of Islamic art. 





The museum is visited by almost 2 million people every year,
making it the most visited museum in Germany. 





We left the museum at 2:30 PM,
and the queue was even longer. 





We scouted for a restaurant for a late lunch before we decided
 to see Queen Nefertiti exhibit at the nearby Nueus Museum.

Jolly Asian Restaurant

Hungry and longing for a much needed rice- meal,
we spotted the  Jolly Asian Restaurant





...just in front of the Pergamon Museum.



It was a spacious restaurant, with very 
comfortable seats- from the al fresco area

 



...to the main restaurant.





Jolly had a very relaxing ambiance,









...and food is cooked in an open kitchen.

 

We were served Vegetarian Spring Rolls
as appetizers- they tasted so good…



I ordered a Vietnamese Noodle Soup…



…my daughter settled for 
 the very tasty and succulent Roast Duck… 

...while my wife and my son shared
the Chicken with Mushroom rice meal.



All came in very huge servings,



…and everything tasted really good.
