Oktoberfest Berlin

Oktoberfest is an annual festival 

celebrating beer held in Munich, Germany, 

 from late September to the first weekend in October.

 It is a famous event in Germany 

and is the world's largest fair 

with millions of people from around the world 

attending the event every year.

 Other cities across the world 

(including some cities in the Philippines)

 also hold Oktoberfests

modeled after the original Munich event.

The closest to the real thing that we experienced

was the Oktoberfest in Berlin

While most people associate Oktoberfest

 with beer, beer drinking and getting drunk-

well,  they are wrong.

 To the locals, it is not called Oktoberfest,

 but "die Wiesn" – 

named after the fairgrounds where they are held.

Oktoberfest is also an occasion for the whole family-

…to bond and enjoy good folk music,

…sweet candies and nougats,

…yummy and irresistible pretzels

 

 

…candied apples,

…and toy trumpets.

Beer? 

Did anyone needed beer on Oktoberfest?

Yes, but not everyone.
