Old Yet Well- Maintained Rooms

We have stayed in Holiday Inn Galleria a long time ago

on our way to Bangkok my daughter was 2 years old then,
she is now in college an we returned after eighteen years.

Holiday Inn is one of our favorite budget hotels

and we have stayed in some of its facilities in the

past like the Holiday Inn Express in New York,

…Holiday Inn by the Bay in San Diego,

…and reviewed Holiday Inn Disney Springs in Orlando.

Holiday Inn Makati is one of our favorite hotels in Manila.

We have stayed there several times and reviewed the hotel’s

in this blog twice (One Bedroom Suite and Standard Suite.)

Stay

We arrived early in the morning at Holiday Inn Galleria after a short flight 
form Naga City and we werepleasantly surprised our room was already 
available. The hotel had a tiny lobby with  very few seats s available. 

 

Check in was a breeze, the people
 at the front desk were friendly,

..and we were immediately on our

way to our room at the 9^th floor.

 
  

This would be our home for the next five days

while my wife was attending a convention.

Our suite, a One Bedroom Suite was

very spacious and was very beautiful.

At 63 sqm, the suite room would make guests feel

comfortable like living similar in their own homes. 

 

The large living room was executed in classic Georgian hardwood motif, with 
a comfy  sofa where one can relax and get comfy while reading or watching TV.

 

Interestingly- there was no TV in the living room.

It was unbelievable as this is the very first one-

bedroom suite we stayed without one in the sala.

There was also beautiful dining room,

 

…a mini- bar,

… a well stocked mini-  refrigerator,,

…a kettle for a coffeemaker where you have to lay it down the floor
 to  use  it as the electric sockets are located way down the wall.

The bedroom was also very beautiful and just like the living room, 
it is of classic Georgian hardwood motif. It had king size bed, and 
just like any other Holiday Inn hotels we stayed in the past, it was very 
comfortable and an assurance for a peaceful, and relaxing sleep.

 

The additional bed we requested was just as comfortable.

 

There is a large bedside working and study

table that also functions as a vanity area.

 

…a a seating area for two.

The only TV in this huge suite is found in the bedroom.

 

There was only one toilet and bath located near the 
dining area, accessible by passing on a walk in closet,

 

…that had the electronic safe, clothes ironing and pressing equipment,
with no extra pillows, linens, no slippers and bathrobes which

is quite a disappointment as this is one of their premier rooms.

The bathroom was big and was

provided with plush amenities,

…adequate toiletries,

 

…had a nice shower room and a bathtub.

 

The room had three landline phones-  

the first one in the living room,

…the second on at the bedside,

 

…and the third one on the bathroom.

Both the living and the bedrooms have

panoramic floor to ceiling windows with

the view of the booming Ortigas Center.

 

We were very happy with the very fast

and complimentary Wi Fi connection.

Stray

Holiday Inn Manila Galleria is located

in the  heart of Ortigas Center and had a

direct access to Robinson Place Galleria.

Being located at the heart of Ortigas Center it is a

few minutes walk to some of the biggest malls in

the Philippines like the SM Mega Mall, Shangri La

Plaza Mall and the newly renovated upscale Podium.

Holiday Inn Manila Galleria had a  fabulous

resort like swimming pool that it shares

with its sister hotel,  the Crown Plaza Hotel.

 

The hotel gym, was undergoing renovation at that time but

guests are accommodated for free on Crown Plaza gym.

 

Feast

Fab the Restaurant

 Fab the Restaurant, is the hotel’s in house restaurant,

 

...where the breakfast buffet is served

 

 

It is also a great place to dineas it serves 
delicious dishes a’ la carte all day long.

 

In Room Dining

We have enjoyed the in room dining as they had a wide
 choice of local and international dishes on the menu. 

They also routinely gives us free desserts 
being a IHG loyalty card holder.

 

The direct access to the Robinsons Galleria

offers hotel guests a massive dining choices,

 

…in some of the best local and international restaurants in Manila.

Holiday Inn Manila Galleria is an affordable luxurious

hotel in the heart of Ortigas Central Business District.

 

It is a little bit old and currently undergoing renovation

but the rooms are well maintained and still smell good.

 

The One Bedroom Suite was spacious but convenience

was not on the priority list of the hotel’s interior designer.

 

A room this big, there was only one TV in the bedroom

and would have been ideal had it been on the living

room so as not to disturb those who wanted to sleep.

 

There was only one bathroom and located way off

the other end of the room near the dining room. It

would have been ideal had it been built with dual

access between the living room and the bedroom. 

 

The electrical outlets are located way down the walls and

one had to lay the kettle to the floor to make a cup of coffee.

 

It is otherwise a well maintained comfortable suite room.
