After eight days in Walt Disney World, we
checked out at Holiday Inn Lake Buenavista,
…took a taxi to Turkey
Lake,
…and moved to Westgate Lake Resort Hotel and Spa,
a sprawling resort complex at the shores of Big Sand Lake,
We were overwhelmed on how busy the lobby was as there were just
too many people that everything looked like in chaos and in disarray.
So I took photos very early in the morning the
next day where there were few people around,

…and got to appreciate the otherwise spacious lobby.
It had a coffee shop called Sid’s Bistro,
…a gift shop,
…a Disney Planning Booth,
…and a tour desk where one could buy ticket to numerous
Orlando
attractions and tours and charge it to their rooms.
Check- in was easy but was made complicated as we were still referred
to a counter that talked us to attend a marketing meeting in exchange for

some freebees and theme park entrance promo discounts. I declined.

We were then taken by the staff aboard
an electric car to a lakeside Building
# 9,
…where our suite room was located,
…and would be our home for the next seven days
on the second week of our Orlando spring vacation.
Stay
The initial disappointment that we felt during the
madness in the lobby, instantly disappeared when
we saw our one bedroom suite with everything on it.
It has a full living room,
…where the huge sofa is convertible
to an comfortable extra king sized bed.
It had a small dining area,
…a full kitchen with a huge refrigerator,,
…with a modern two burner electric stove,
…a microwave oven,
…a dishwasher,

…and complete sets of kitchen utensils.
The bedroom was spacious and had
a huge comfortable king size bed,
…a closet that had an electronic safe
extra pillows, beddings and blankets.
It also has a study table,
…and a spacious screened balcony,
…with the beautiful view of the Big Sand Lake,
and the spectacular tropical Florida sunset.

The bathroom was luxurious,
…and provided with sufficient toiletries.
The suite room had everything a family needs
to feel at home even if they are away from home.

Westgate Lake Resort Hotel and Spa is a huge
resort complex and a tourist destination of its own.

Guests can get around the resort having leisurely
walks thru scenic lakeside concrete walkways.
One can also use the shuttle service that goes
around the resort every 10 to 15 minutes,
…where guests can wait for them from the
numerous pick- up points around the resort.
Guests can also rest E- Cars for personal use,
and these are also used by the staff to transport
hotel guests personally within the resort compound.
There are also bikes for rent that could be used for
leisure, exercise and even to go around the resort.

...to popular Orlando-area theme parks such as WDW,

& Deli is our favorite place in this hotel,
…and since our booking was without a breakfast included,
it provided us an awesome choice for home cooked meals.
We loved shopping there as this mini- grocery
store seems to have everything that we need.
Poolside Bars
There are three pool bars at Westgate Lakes
–
Citrus Breeze, Flamingo
Bay and Coral Reef.
Lounge by the pool and treat yourself to your favorite
cocktail
drinks or one of their draft beer selections or signature drink
