Affordability and Luxury in the Heart of Makati
A Post- Oakwood Review
We have stayed in Ascott Makati long time ago and
it was then known as the Oakwood Premiere Makati.
It was my pre- blogging days and this was then one
of the most luxurious hotels that we have been to and.
this is the first time that we are staying after the hotel
was re- branded and renamed as an Ascott property.
Stay
Ascott Makati’s concierge was located on the first floor and
we were led by a courteous staff to the fifth floor where the
beautiful, modern, contemporary designed lobby was located.
The cathedral ceiling creates and illusion of space to the otherwise
modestly sized lobby. There are lots of comfortable seats where
they could relax while waiting for their turn to check in.
Check in was a breeze, and the people
at the front desk were cordial and friendly,
...and we were immediately on our
way to our room at the 9th floor.
This would be our home in Manila for the
next three days for my family’s Schengen visa
renewal at the French embassy located nearby.
We were welcomed by the sight of complimentary bottled
fruit juices, various packed snacks and a platter of fresh fruits.
Our suite, a One Bedroom Deluxe Suite
was very spacious and was very beautiful.
Although newly renovated the large living room
still bears the footprint design of most Oakwood
properties usually executed in natural earth tones.
It had a huge very comfortable sofa
which could function as an extra bed.
There is a huge flat screen TV,
with superb audio/video systems.
There was also beautiful dining room,
…and a fully equipped kitchen,
…large refrigerator,
…upscale cooking range,
…oven and microwave.
The room was provided with complete cooking,
…and cooking and dining facility.
They had an upscale coffee maker at the minibar.
It also had laundry room provided
with a washing machine and a dryer.
The bedroom was also very beautiful and just like the living room,
is it of modern Asian contemporary design. It had king size bed,
… a large working and study table,
that also serves as a vanity area,
…provided with varied electrical outlets that
would fit any gadget coming from any country.
The room had a huge flat screen TV
with top notch audio/video systems.
There was a spacious walk in closet
that had extra blankets and pillows,
… electronic safe,
…clothes ironing and pressing equipment, and accessories
meant to make the guests stay more comfortable.
There is only one toilet and bath, which
was also accessible from the living room,
… with nice shower room and a bathtub.
It was provided with plush amenities,
…and adequate toiletries.
The room had three landline phones-
the first one in the living room,
…the second one at the in the bedroom,
…and the third one at the toilet.
Both the living and the bedrooms have panoramic windows
with the view of the booming Makati central business district.
We were very happy with the very fast
and complimentary Wi Fi connection.
Stray
Ascott Makati located right atop the upscale
Glorietta Mall and few blocks away Greenbelt Mall.
It is also walking distance to some of the largest department
stores in the Philippines like the SM Makati and Landmark.

Ascott Makati had a beautiful outdoor swimming pool
…a well equipped the gym,
…kiddie playroom,
…fancy barbershop,
...and other leisure facilities.

The Myron is the hotel’s in- house
restaurant located right at the lobby.
It is where the breakfast buffet is served,
… but also offers ala carte all day dining.
Diners have the option to dine indoor,
…or outdoor with the view of the swimming pool,
The food is good and the service is excellent.

In room dining is available 24/7
…is catered by Myron,
…and a convenient way to enjoy the hotel’s in- house
restaurant’s delicious dishes without leaving the room.
